2004 | HKIR Territorial Camp
Day Three
Breakfast ~
The night before, we played card game until midnight so when I woke up, some of us were still snoring in the tent. Loudly. When everyone was more conscious, we went to take our breakfast box. There was no surprise because it was only a usual breakfast with pork luncheon, ham and bread.
Challenge ~
After the breakfast, we started our day of challenges. I was allocated to play water sports in Chong Hing Water Sports Centre. We could do canoeing, windsurfing, etc., but I couldn’t choose, they had allocated me to windsurfing. I heard that windsurfing is very difficult, I didn’t believe that before, but now, I knew that they are right. I used all my strength to move the sail, but still, the surf board only moved a little bit. I was very lucky that I didn’t fall into the water while the others all did.
Open Day ~
When I went back to the sub-camp, I saw that they were preparing the dragon for the open day after lunch. I was very sorry that I was playing while they were preparing. Although the dragon was almost finished, I still joined in making the dragon. After lunch, the opening ceremony of the open day started. The officers said a few words. Every group walked a round once with their dragons. There was a competition of “The Best Dragon”. Did we won this competition? Maybe you’ll say yes, but if you saw our dragon, you would change your mind.
Challenge Again ~
After the opening ceremony, we continued our activities. I went to the water sports centre again to play water sports. This time, I did canoeing (one of my favourite water sports) with another scout. We went around the water sports center and enjoyed it very much.
Party ~
After we had our dinner, the third night party started. The theme of the party was ‘The Wild Castle’. People danced and sang wildly on the stage, many people danced together, we liked that because the style was appropriate to us, and it made us very ‘high’. There was an interesting event in the party, each district sent a group of scouts on stage, and a segment of a film was played, the group of scouts had to imitate it. It was interesting and it was funny too.
